This is a part time voluntary position, you will be expected to devote at least 8 hours per week to the role.

The Depute President is responsible for promoting student volunteering and deputising for the President in his/her absence.

Diversity Officer - job description


This is a part time voluntary position, you will be expected to devote at least 8 hours per week to the role.

The Diversity Officer supports and champions the equality of all students at Adam Smith College, and as such can have a wide ranging remit. The principal role being to ensure students are treated equally regardless of their ability, race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, religion, socio-economic status or nationality.  This can mean being asked to support individual students or even groups of students who have encountered equality obstacles in their time at College.  The Diversity Officer is the nominated student representative on the College Diversity Committee. 

The Diversity Officer will often run awareness campaigns in partnership with the Campaigns Officer.

Campaigns Officer - job description


This is a part time voluntary position, you will be expected to devote at least 8 hours per week to the role.

A Students' Association will at various points throughout an academic year campaign on various issues which concern its student membership.  The Campaigns Officer ensures students are aware of these issues.  It's these campaigns which allow the student voice to be heard, bringing student concerns and problems to the attention of those people in a position to do something about it.

The Students' Association is affiliated to NUS.  NUS also delivers a variety of campaigns each academic year.  The Campaigns Officer will be responsible for promoting these NUS campaigns too.

The Campaigns Officer will work closely with the Diversity Officer to organise a variety of awareness campaigns throughout the year.

Events Officer - job description


This is a part time voluntary position, you will be expected to devote at least 8 hours per week to the role.

Coming to College isn't just about coming to learn.  We believe it's important to try and provide a variety of events for you attend throughout the year, which will help enrich your experience of being a student at Adam Smith College.  The person responsible for such events is the Events Officer.

The Events Officer is also responsible for helping groups of students create their own club or society.

NPO - job description


This is a part time voluntary position, you will be expected to devote at least 8 hours per week to the role.

There are three Non-Portfolio positions available on the Executive Committee.  There is no specific remit for these positions as there is with the Officer positions.  As a Non-Portfolio Officer you will be expected to get involved with a variety of events and campaigns, supporting the other officers in their roles as required.

This is an ideal position to opt for if you are unsure what you would like to do but know you want to get more actively involved.  You will however be given the opportunity to organise an event of an student related issue you are particularly interested in.
