Join gym@adamsmith!
Located on the first
floor of our St Brycedale Campus, gym@adamsmith is open to all students who sign up for a membership. Memberships start
from £17.50 per semester. Have a look at the college webpage for further details on what they offer and how to
join.
If sport is more your thing, why not hire the Sports Hall for you and your friends to use? You
don't need to be a member of gym@adamsmith to book (but you might win more matches if you are fitter than your competition!).
Prices for 1 hour hire start from £7 and they offer 1/2 price entry for bookings up to 5pm.

What do I need to do before my induction?
During your
induction you will have your blood pressure checked. It is very important that you prepare for this otherwise your blood
pressure results may be distorted and your induction will not be able to take place.
- Don't use caffeine, alcohol, or smoke products, 30 minutes
before your induction
- Go to the bathroom before your induction
- Don't do any exercises immediately before the start of your induction,
so arrive early
- While waiting on your induction sit in
a comfortable position, with your legs and ankles uncrossed and your back supported
What will happen on the day?
The Instructor will take you through your paperwork. You will then be shown around the gym and taught
how to operate all the equipment safely.
What
should I wear?
You should wear clothing appropriate for a gym environment - trainers, shorts/tracksuit
and t-shirt. To reduce the risk of injury, we advise that you don't wear trainers with Velcro fastening or any type
of fashion trainer as they generally do not provide adequate support during exercise.
How long will it take?
The induction should take no more than 45 minutes,
however the length can vary from client to client, based on experience of gym use.
