Stress
Coming to college in itself can be stressful. There are all kinds of pressures such
as integrating with peers, academic work, leaving home, or going to college after a long period out of formal education. All
of these situations can put pressure on you even if you normally cope well with things.
Throughout
your time at Adam Smith a combination of factors can sometimes make life difficult. What is important is that you make
a conscious effort to manage stress.
There are a number of helping agencies within the College
including the Student's Association and Learner Services, who can assist with most problems.
Sport
and recreation are another good way of relieving stress, so why not consider joining a sports or recreation club? The
Students' Association in conjunction with the Sports Institute will be encouraging students to set up their
own sports clubs throughout the year so watch this space. Why not take a membership out for the fitness suite for
the year?
All problems can lead to stress which can be severely debilitating, so do something
about it before things get too difficult to cope with, and we'll do everything possible to suggest solutions to alleviate
some of this stress if we can.
