Adam Smith College Students' Association

MV and SAV Awards

Awards
In conjunction with the Volunteer Centre Fife, the Students' Association can offer MV awards to class reps, student officers and SA volunteers.  The MV Awards are national awards open to all 16 to 25 year old volunteers in Scotland.  The awards are presented at 50 hours, 100 hours and 200 hours for student representation, endorsed by Scottish Government ministers and supported nationwide by the Volunteer Centre Network Scotland and Volunteer Development Scotland (VDS).

Registration for the MV Award is simple.  Complete the registration form and return it to the Volunteer Centre on St Brycedale Avenue.  Then keep a note of your hours and when you have reached 50, 100 and 200 hours of volunteering complete and return the Certificate Request Form.

Since the MV Awards are for those aged 16 - 25 we have introduced the SAV Award.  This award replicates the MV Award but is for those aged over 25.  The same criteria applies to this award as does the MV Award.  Students must complete log sheets and demonstrate they have dedicated at least 50 hours to their role as a Student Representative or SA Volunteer.  Awards are presented for 50 hours, 100 hours and 200 hours.  Contact the SA Coordinator for further information or to register.

We believe all our SA volunteers and officers deserve recognition for the hard work they do throughout the year even if they don't manage to complete the SAV log sheet!  At the 2011 Awards Night students who volunteered their time to help the Association with induction speeches were presented with a certificate of recognition.  A certificate of recognition was also presented to student officers.
