On Wednesday 21 September the Scottish Government announced its spending plans and draft budget, which will be debated and voted on by Parliament in early 2012.  

These spending plans outlined a proposed cut to the college sector budget of 20% over the next three years - this comes on top of a cut of 10% last year!

NUS Scotland has launched a campaign to mitigate against the potentially devastating cut to college budgets: Our Future, Our Fight.

Whilst this may be a campaign dealing with college budgets, it is an issue which goes far deeper than that alone, and is equally a campaign concerned with access, provision, and quality - issues which affect everyone; university and college.

NUS Scotland has launched a petition online at www.ourfutureourfight.org and we need to get people signed up to the petition as soon as possible. Please send out tweets, emails, and Facebook updates to your friends and family asking them to sign the petition, something along the lines of:
